Breckenridge Brewery: Good Eats, Fine Ales

The Breckenridge Brewery was founded in the 1980s with the mission statement, ski all day, drink great beer every night. I dont know about the skiing, but they have the beer down pat. Founder Richard Squire created a microbrewery when the idea had just started to take shape. He started to brew his own beer as a way of replacing blander, less tasty macro brews. The concept took hold first with his friends, and moved forward from there. Unfortunately for Richard, the brews were such a hit that he had to spend more time brewing than skiing. Luckily for the town of Breckenridge and its visitors, he was committed to the concept, and in February of 1990 he opened the first Brewery and Pub in Breckenridge, effectively ending his days as a ski bum. Now Breckenridge Brewery produces eight of the finest brews available using Richards original recipes, as well as seasonal favorites. The beers are handcrafted at three locations in Colorado.

As one of the most popular restaurants in Breckenridge, and its only brewpub, Breckenridge Brewery offers an eclectic menu of burgers and sandwiches, salads, fresh fish, and pasta. Any of these great fresh cooked meals can be enjoyed in their dining room, or while basking in the glorious and dramatic view of the Rocky Mountains. Every meal has its hand-crafted beer compliment. Breckenridge Brewery is located at 600 South Main Street in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. During peak season it is advisable to call ahead (970)-453-1550. They open daily at 11 a.m.
