One of the first things to decide upon when taking a trip to Breckenridge is how you are going to get there. Breckenridge is actually conveniently accessible and there are many methods to get there, whether by land or air.
First of all, you need to know exactly where Breckenridge is located. Breckenridge is in the Central Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is just under 100 miles west of Denver. You can fly, drive yourself, or take a shuttle, and they are all very convenient. If you are flying in, you will want to arrive at Denver International Airport or the Colorado Springs Airport. From there you can either ride a shuttle or rent a car to drive yourself to Breckenridge. Both of the airports provide ground transportation in the form of shuttles, rental cars, taxis, and limos.
If you are driving yourself once you land, it is 98 miles if you are coming from Denver. You will want to travel west on I-70 and take Exit 203. Then you will go down Highway 9 south nine miles to Breckenridge. If you are coming from Colorado Springs, the trip is 110 miles. You will travel west through South Park on Rt. 24. Then over Hoosier Pass on Rt. 9. You can also travel I-25 to C-470 to I-70 west. Then you will take Exit 203 and travel south down Highway 9 for nine miles and you will arrive in Breckenridge.
If driving, you may also want to check out road and weather conditions. You can call 303-639-1111 or visit the Colorado Department of Transportation website for weather and road condition information.
