Best Ways to get to Breckenridge

One of the first things to decide upon when taking a trip to Breckenridge is how you are going to get there. Breckenridge is actually conveniently accessible and there are many methods to get there, whether by land or air.

First of all, you need to know exactly where Breckenridge is located. Breckenridge is in the Central Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is just under 100 miles west of Denver. You can fly, drive yourself, or take a shuttle, and they are all very convenient. If you are flying in, you will want to arrive at Denver International Airport or the Colorado Springs Airport. From there you can either ride a shuttle or rent a car to drive yourself to Breckenridge. Both of the airports provide ground transportation in the form of shuttles, rental cars, taxis, and limos.

If you are driving yourself once you land, it is 98 miles if you are coming from Denver. You will want to travel west on I-70 and take Exit 203. Then you will go down Highway 9 south nine miles to Breckenridge. If you are coming from Colorado Springs, the trip is 110 miles. You will travel west through South Park on Rt. 24. Then over Hoosier Pass on Rt. 9. You can also travel I-25 to C-470 to I-70 west. Then you will take Exit 203 and travel south down Highway 9 for nine miles and you will arrive in Breckenridge.

Travel Planning Tips

There is a lot to do in Breckenridge, so when you plan your trip it can get a little overwhelming. There is a lot of research to be done to make sure to find a great place to stay and fit in all the activities that you would like to do.

The first thing you should decide is when to visit. The two peak seasons are from January to March and from late June to Early September. The holidays are also a popular time to visit. If you go during another time, you will find better rates on your accommodations as well as other great deals. April is a great time to go because you will find great deals and you can still ski as well. Summer is also a great time to go.

Breckenridge is a laid back town so you can dress casual for the whole trip. When it comes to paying for everything, credit cards are accepted pretty much anywhere, and there are also ATM machines. Most of the lodging is conveniently located near Main Street and the mountain and there is free transportation around town.

There are also other parts of Summit County to visit, and the Summit Stage transit system makes it easy to get anywhere. The county is also smoke-free, so you can�t smoke at indoor public places. The best times to grocery shop are before 11 a.m. and after 8 p.m. The best time to go out to eat is right at 5 p.m. and after 8 p.m.
