Backstage Theatre

Heading to small town Colorado doesnt necessarily mean that you must leave all the excitement and sophistication of the city behind you. What can be more entertaining than an evening at the theatre? The Breckenridge Backstage Theatre has been entertaining audiences since 1974, and today it is still going strong.

The Backstage Theatre is a non-profit organization that aims to provide aspiring actors with a chance to entertain and to open up a world of possibilities to young thespians. The theatre is heavily dependant upon community support, and the community does do its part to ensure that this stage company remains an active part of Breckenridge culture. All actors work solely on a volunteer basis and for the sheer love of the trade, which makes this theatre all the more believable.

If you are looking to get into the acting trade, and have a few extra hours to spend, the Backstage Theatre offers various classes and workshops as well as an annual production put on by the group KidsPlay, which provides suitable scripts and roles for kids of all ages. A visit to this theatre will provide you with a real glimpse into the heart of the Breckenridge community, as the entire town makes it a point to visit their friends and neighbors for a night at the theatre throughout the year. The theatre tends to put on a wide array of shows for all ages depending upon the month, so it is best to consult their monthly schedule at www.backstagetheatre.org. If you are planning a trip to Breckenridge, visit the Backstage Theatre for a night that is sure to be unforgettable.
